Cinnamon Programme

Cinnamon and its dilute, fawn, are allowed championship colours in the Asian Group but, because these colours don’t exist in UK Burmese and Chinchillas, the gene had to be brought in from outside the breed’s original parameters (the first cinnamon ‘Asians’ were actually imported Mandalays, the New Zealand equivalent of Asians).  They are extremely rare as a result and, when we started our cinnamon programme, there were no more than half-a-dozen Asians carrying the gene.

I love red cats in general, and adore the rich ginger of cinnamons.  I really wanted to work with it in my Asians but didn’t want to have to inbreed to do it.
